      Ένα ακόμη μικρής επιφάνειας γραφειακός χώρος μετατράπηκε σε κεντρική κατοικία στη Λάρισα, με πρότυπο το αρχικό project. Η σχεδιαστική πρόταση Box & Islands βρήκε γόνιμο έδαφος και συνεχίστηκε. Στο νέο διαμέρισμα, διατηρήθηκε η βασική λειτουργική δομή και το διάγραμμα κίνησης του πρώτου Box & Islands, ενώ η γεωμετρία των ειδικών κατασκευών και των επίπλων προσαρμόστηκε ώστε να ανταποκριθεί στις ιδιαιτερότητες του νέου χώρου.

     Λόγω του περιορισμένου εμβαδού, κύρια πρόθεση του σχεδιασμού υπήρξε η αναφορά στην ιαπωνική αρχιτεκτονική. Επιστρατεύτηκαν συρόμενες και διάφανες επιφάνειες, ενώ βασικές λειτουργίες όπως ο ύπνος και η ανάπαυση οργανώθηκαν χαμηλά, κοντά στο δάπεδο. Παράλληλα, έγινε προσπάθεια αναδιάταξης των συνηθειών του κλασικού τρόπου κατοίκησης, πάντα με σεβασμό στις σταθερές της εργονομίας και της λειτουργικότητας.

     Η μικρή κλίμακα του χώρου απαίτησε έναν σχεδιασμό σε λεπτομερές επίπεδο: έπιπλα, κατασκευές και ειδικά στοιχεία δημιουργήθηκαν αποκλειστικά για τον συγκεκριμένο χώρο, καθώς δεν θα μπορούσαν να βρεθούν στην αγορά.

    Διατηρήθηκε το λεξιλόγιο της υλικότητας του αρχικού έργου, με αναφορές στην εποχή κατασκευής του κτιρίου, ενισχύοντας την αίσθηση συνέχειας και εσωτερικής συνοχής. Έτσι γεννήθηκε το Re-box & Islands μια νέα εκδοχή του αρχικού οράματος, προσαρμοσμένη στις ανάγκες ενός ακόμη μικρού αλλά πολυλειτουργικού χώρου κατοικίας.

    A small-scale office space was once again transformed into a central residence in the city of Larissa, modeled after the original Box & Islands project. The design proposal found fertile ground and continued to evolve, which fills us with joy and satisfaction.

      In the new apartment, the core functional structure and the circulation diagram of the initial Box & Islands were preserved, while the geometry of the custom constructions and furniture was adapted to fit the specific constraints of the space.

       Due to the limited floor area, the design was once again guided by references to Japanese architecture. Sliding and transparent surfaces were utilized, and primary domestic functions—such as resting and sleeping—were arranged low, close to the floor. At the same time, an effort was made to subtly reconfigure the habits of conventional living, always respecting the principles of ergonomics and functionality.

      The small scale of the space required a detailed approach to design: furniture, functional elements, and custom constructions were specifically created for this apartment, as they could not be sourced from the mass market.   The materiality of the original project was maintained, with references to the era during which the building was constructed, reinforcing a sense of continuity and internal cohesion. This is how Re-box & Islands came to life: a new version of the original vision, tailored to the needs of another small but highly functional living space.
